Upgrade advice (Hayward or Pentair) - Trouble Free Pool
Hey all, so I've narrowed it down to two options for upgrading most of my equipment this year. This might be the age-old Hayward vs. Pentair debate, but I've got specific equipment that I'm hoping to get feedback on. First of all, what I already own and am planning on keeping: Pool is 10,800...

Bottom drain- do you use them - Trouble Free Pool
I been leaving the two bottom drains open for the past 2 years 91/2 ft deep. Is there any benefits having them open or should I close them ? I’m sure the 3 skimmers would have more suction if I close bottom drain.

Intelliflo pump is not powering on after power surge
After a strong thunderstorm 2 nights ago, my cable box and sound bar were fried, but then next day I noticed the pool pump wasn't working. I confirmed it is getting the 240V, and the display is showing "Priming Dry" message. I have tried the Reset process, and also removed all power for 20...

ORP drifts high regardless of chlorine concentration
Our basic problem is that the ORP will drift up, especially during a warm, sunny day even when the chlorine concentration is not increasing (and sometimes even dropping). And I have not been able to find any reference to such a problem either on the internet or from our local technician. We have...

CYA is 0 in my spa! - Trouble Free Pool
I just started up the spa for the winter - new water - a bit of Chlorine - a bit of Spa Down as a few levels were high after running overnight - now things are balanced, on the high side of ok - but the CYA is 0. The tannish/orange square on the test strip. We are going to be using a mineral...

How much would you pay to remove sod and level the ground for a large ...
So I have ordered a 32x16x52 intex pool and now I need to get the ground ready for it. I did the groundwork for my 15’ round intex pool a year and a half ago and I remember it taking two or three days and a lot of effort. And even despite my best effort the ground was still not perfectly flat...

New Plaster & it's starting to rain. Should I be concerned?
Re: New Plaster & it's starting to rain. Should I be concern You only need a couple of hours for the plaster to setup before it is safe from rain. Hard rain right as they finish can ruin the plaster, but even after just an hour you are usually alright, and after three or four hours you should be totally fine.

Are sand filters enough? Do I need chemicals and/or a salt water pump ...
Hi! We recently ordered this pool and are waiting for it to come. I've got the yard, and leveling figured out. My only question left is the filter. Is the included sand filter good enough? Should I also get a salt water system as well? With the sand filter, I'm going to use glass media. Just...

Rebar placement / process - Trouble Free Pool
So, I know the rebar size/placement depends on the engineering...my question is what should I be looking for to make sure it is being done correctly? For example, I've read that there should be spacers on the walls and floor to make sure the rebar is properly encapsulated. There are no spacers...
